Review RAMIREZ 1a Da Camara Classical Guitar Brazilian

The 1991 Ramirez 1A Da Camara Classical Guitar is a masterpiece of Spanish guitar craftsmanship, showcasing the finest qualities of Brazilian rosewood. This guitar, hailing from the esteemed Ramirez workshop in Madrid, Spain, is a testament to the artisan's skill and dedication to creating instruments of unparalleled tone and playability.

The body of this guitar is crafted from exquisite Brazilian rosewood, known for its rich, warm tone and beautiful grain patterns. The top is made of European spruce, which provides the guitar with a balanced and powerful sound. The neck is made of Spanish cedar, known for its resonance and comfort in the hand. The guitar features a 650mm scale length and a 52mm nut width, making it a comfortable instrument for a wide range of players.

The 1991 Ramirez 1A Da Camara Classical Guitar features a traditional fan-braced design, which helps to distribute the tension of the strings evenly across the soundboard, enhancing the guitar's tonal response. The guitar is equipped with high-quality rosewood bridge and machine heads, ensuring precise tuning and excellent sustain.

The attention to detail in the construction of this guitar is evident in every aspect of its design. From the hand-carved rosette to the finely tuned machine heads, each component has been carefully crafted to ensure the highest level of quality and performance. The guitar is finished with a natural polish, allowing the beautiful grain of the Brazilian rosewood to shine through.

The 1991 Ramirez 1A Da Camara Classical Guitar is a truly exceptional instrument, perfect for both professional musicians and dedicated amateurs. Its rich, warm tone and comfortable playability make it an ideal choice for anyone looking for a high-quality classical guitar. Whether you're playing solo or in an ensemble, this guitar will inspire you to create beautiful music for years to come.

Pros of buying a 1991 Ramirez 1A da Camara classical guitar with Brazilian rosewood:

1. High-quality craftsmanship: Ramirez is a renowned Spanish guitar maker known for its exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The 1A model is one of their highest-end series, ensuring a high-quality instrument.

2. Brazilian rosewood back and sides: Brazilian rosewood is highly prized for its rich, warm tone and sustain. It is an excellent choice for classical guitar players seeking a full, balanced sound.

3. Age and maturation: A 30-year-old guitar has had time to mature, allowing the wood to settle and the strings to break in. This often results in a more pronounced and refined tone.

4. Rarity and collectibility: As Brazilian rosewood has been banned for use in musical instruments due to environmental concerns, vintage Brazilian rosewood guitars like this one are becoming increasingly rare and collectible.

Cons of buying a 1991 Ramirez 1A da Camara classical guitar with Brazilian rosewood:

1. Price: Due to its high-quality materials, craftsmanship, and rarity, the 1991 Ramirez 1A da Camara guitar with Brazilian rosewood can be expensive. This may not be a feasible option for players on a more limited budget.

2. Maintenance and care: Brazilian rosewood is susceptible to damage from moisture and temperature changes. Proper storage and maintenance are essential to preserve the guitar's finish and prevent potential damage.

3. Environmental concerns: The use of Brazilian rosewood in musical instruments has raised concerns about deforestation and the protection of endangered species. Some players may prefer to opt for alternatives made from sustainable sources.

Conclusion:

The 1991 Ramirez 1A da Camara classical guitar with Brazilian rosewood is an excellent investment for guitar enthusiasts seeking a high-quality, collectible, and tone-rich instrument. Its exceptional craftsmanship, luxurious materials, and matured tone make it a desirable choice for serious classical guitar players. However, its high price and the environmental concerns associated with using Brazilian rosewood should be taken into consideration before making a purchase.

Recommendation:

For those interested in the 1991 Ramirez 1A da Camara classical guitar with Brazilian rosewood, I would recommend visiting a local music shop or luthier to play and evaluate the instrument firsthand. This will help determine if the guitar's tone, feel, and playability justify the investment. It's also a good idea to research and consider alternative, sustainable options that meet your musical needs and budget.

Details:

As it is the case with da camara model, has an exceptional clarity and balance between all strings across fingerboard. The guitar is very easy to play, having a comfortably low action. According to Jose Ramirez iii, after starting play a da camara guitar, Segovia never again complained of wolf notes. The instrument is loud.

Magnificent 1991 Ramirez 1a da camara, with beautiful brazilian rosewood. It is in a really great condition. It has a piano-like sound, excellent projection and great sustain. The idea, introduced by Jose Ramirez iii, was to avoid any wolf notes.

There is a ding below the bridge, due to string snap, small chip in sound hole rim and mark on back. After its introduction, the da camara model was immediately adopted by famous guitarists such as Andres Segovia and Christopher darkening. 5mm on the bass side 6th string and 3mm treble 1st. It has no cracks.

At the same time it also has rich, typical Ramirez tone, with big basses and sweet trebles. It is, honestly, one of the best Ramirez 1a guitars that I have ever played. There is also some scuffing below the trebles, which hard to catch in photos.

There are a few marks. There is a little bit of room left on the saddle to lower action if desired. Segovia actually liked the da camara model so much that he is quoted as saying: Ramirez should have thought of this 10 years ago.

Type: classical model: 1 scale: 664mmtop: cedar back and sides: brazilian rosewood width of the neck at nut: 54 mm action measured 12th fret is about 4. It comes in its hard shell case.
