Review JUAN ESTRUCH Guitar Flamenco Case

The 1925-ish Juan Guitar Estruch is a rare and exquisite piece of flamenco guitar history. This guitar, crafted by the esteemed luthier Juan Estruch, showcases the rich artistic and cultural heritage of flamenco music.

The guitar's body is made of Spanish cypress, a traditional material chosen for its tone and resonance. The cypress body is adorned with an intricate rosette, a beautiful floral pattern that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional, as it helps to distribute the tension of the strings. The back and sides of the guitar are crafted from Spanish cedar, which provides a warm, rich sound.

The guitar features a hand-carved Spanish cedar neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The neck is slim and comfortable, making it easy to play for both beginners and experienced guitarists. The guitar's tuning machines are made of brass, adding to its classic flamenco look.

The 1925-ish Juan Guitar Estruch is strung with high-quality nylon strings, which produce a rich, full sound that is perfect for flamenco music. The guitar's sound is characterized by its warmth, richness, and complexity, with a bright high end and a deep, resonant bass.

This guitar is not just a musical instrument, but a work of art. The details of the inlay work, the delicate curves of the body, and the polished finish of the wood all contribute to the guitar's beauty and charm. The 1925-ish Juan Guitar Estruch is a piece of flamenco guitar history that is sure to inspire and delight anyone who plays it.

Details:

The rest of the cracks are secure yet some still noticeable. The instrument is finished with tru and tried oil. I'm guessing the guitar is around there were many cracks and seemingly attempts to fix them in the past which I had to undo and redo.

Address Callie anchor 30 Barcelona with a Spanish lady inside. Ideally the purling should be replaced along with the rosette which is fine but brittle and cosmetically not perfect. The purling was damaged in some areas yet secured now. Apparently cheat Atkins owned one.

Juan Estruch is one of the oldest guitar building families in Spain establish in 1880 as a father son grandson team. Saw dust and glue were also needed for added strength. My wish is to find an owner that is a Luther that can take care and bring it to 100 life as it is about 90 currently. Ideally that side should've been replaced but is solid now with 3 braces and a strip of lining along top the old lining on the bottom inside.

This guitar suffered sever low humidity and abuse in fact it was found in a trash can. The guitars are not designed in the more common Torres or hawser styles, but they appear to be well regarded among guitarists in Spain. All the hardware parts are original tuning machines, frets, nut and bridge. It has a great addictive feel to it.

The bottom side upper bout was nearly destroyed making it difficult to hide cracks. Still it plays and sounds great.
