Review TAKAMINE Santa Fe Psf-65 Nylon classical Acoustic electric Guitar Limited Run

The PSF-65C Takamine is a stunningly crafted nylon-string classical acoustic-electric guitar that seamlessly blends traditional aesthetics with modern technology. This model, part of Takamine's prestigious Pro Series, showcases fine attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship.

The PSF-65C boasts a solid cedar top, a classic choice for nylon-string guitars. This top is paired with a mahogany back and sides, which lends a rich, resonant tone. The guitar's body is finished in a natural gloss, highlighting the beautiful grain of the woods and giving the instrument a refined, elegant appearance.

The PSF-65C features a solid mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard, providing a comfortable playing experience. The 12-fret neck joint and 52mm nut width offer easy access to the higher frets, making it ideal for intricate fingerstyle playing. The rosewood bridge, with its compensated saddle, ensures accurate intonation, ensuring that each note is in tune across the entire fretboard.

Takamine's Electronic System 3 (ES-3) is integrated into the PSF-65C, providing a high-quality, natural-sounding amplified tone. The pickup system includes a built-in tuner, an onboard preamp with volume and tone controls, and a low-battery indicator. This makes the PSF-65C an excellent choice for both live performances and studio recordings.

In conclusion, the PSF-65C Takamine is a remarkable nylon-string classical acoustic-electric guitar that offers a superior playing experience, outstanding tone, and modern amplification capabilities. Its fine craftsmanship, traditional materials, and innovative electronics make it an excellent choice for both seasoned musicians and those just starting their journey in classical guitar playing.

Pros of PSF-65C Takamine Nylon-Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

1. High-Quality Construction: The PSF-65C is made with a solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fretboard, ensuring durability and a rich, resonant sound.

2. Versatility: As an acoustic-electric guitar, the PSF-65C can be plugged into an amplifier or PA system for live performances, or used unplugged for quiet practice or recording.

3. Easy Playability: The guitar features a slim neck and low action, making it comfortable to play and easy for beginners to learn on.

4. Attractive Aesthetics: The guitar has a sleek, modern design with a gloss finish and a beautiful rosette, making it a great-looking instrument.

Cons of PSF-65C Takamine Nylon-Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

1. Price: The PSF-65C is not the cheapest option on the market, and some may find it to be a significant investment for a beginner guitarist.

2. Nylon Strings: While nylon strings are softer and easier on the fingers, they may not provide the same level of projection or brightness as steel-stringed guitars.

3. Limited Tone Options: As a classical-style guitar, the PSF-65C may not offer as much tone variety as other types of acoustic-electric guitars.

Conclusion:

Overall, the PSF-65C Takamine Nylon-Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a high-quality instrument that offers a rich sound, easy playability, and versatility for both live performances and quiet practice. While the price may be a deterrent for some beginners, the investment in a well-crafted guitar can pay off in the long run. Ultimately, the decision to buy the PSF-65C will depend on your personal preferences, budget, and musical goals.

Recommendation:

If you are looking for a high-quality nylon-stringed guitar with acoustic-electric capabilities, the PSF-65C Takamine is a great option. Its sleek design, comfortable playability, and rich sound make it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced musicians. However, if you are looking for a more affordable option or prefer the tone of a steel-stringed guitar, there may be other models that better suit your needs. Ultimately, it is important to try out different guitars and find the one that feels and sounds best for you.

Details:

The tape holding battery in place had never even been removed. Made of pieces natural color and stained wood, the rosette features accents ebony, pad auk turquoise maple. It was a to the original owner, put in closet and forgotten about. This guitar was produced in the late 90s and is truly as new condition.

Up for sale is an incredibly rare and awesome closet find. Some info from the attached hangdog. There is no reserve but I am starting it at 900 which would frankly be steal on this guitar in condition.

This instrument is significantly different from anything Takamine has ever made. Obviously prior to listing it I did open make sure the battery had not leaked and that everything we in tip top shape. The fingerboard inlays are made of natural turquoise and reflect a motif found in Arapaho pottery.

The sides and back of santa fe are highly figured silky oak that provide not only a stunning appearance, but wonderfully bright clear tone. It comes with the original case manual, hangdog and polishing cloth. As you can see from the pictures it still has original plastic and foam was packed in.

The pictures don't do it justice. Happy buying.
