I've tried to take clear photos of the cold checking, but its difficult. They are clearly visible up close, but too fine to be seen more than a few feet away. Its been played a lot and although none of its bumps dings are anything more than cosmetic, shows age. Its a fine instrument, and time to find new home.
Scale length : 630mm. Sold as is with a backpack-style gig bag. Straight neck with low action tight joint no separation and lifting at the saddle spruce top maple back sides mahogany 4-ply binding on top, single unbound rosewood fingerboard bridge nickel plated tuners white plastic buttons serial this guitar introduced me to a lifetime of playing. The finish on both top and back is cold checked, with many visible surface cracks from exposure to low temperature, but this does not affect its playing ability.
Fingerboard width : 50mm. This Goya g-12 classic was given to me as a birthday present in 1959, the year it built, when I junior high and about start taking classical lessons. I played it almost every day for the next 10 or 12 years and, many later, my son learned his first chords on. Its followed me around for a long time now, but I switched to steel strings ago.
Built in Gutenberg, sweden 1959 body length : 465mm, width : 360 depth: 98mm. There are some small worn areas, mostly on the top and back, but no cracks that penetrate or weaken wood. It would be a great choice for an experienced player or to budding guitarist who might inspired by vintage instrument.
